Billie Lynch was born 1992 inBow, London. Billie is an analogue photographer, mixed media artist and lecturerin London, England. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Photography fromthe University of Cumbria and MA Photography at University of Portsmouth tofurther her research and practical work.

Her family upbringing andpersonal involvement in Mod culture has been a great influence and inspirationto Billie’s practice. The study of collective memory, identity and femininity insubculture is central to her work. Documenting her family and connectionsthrough photography, theoretical as well as practical, led to personalrealisations of belonging to a youth subculture group and an understanding ofthe visibility of women in ethnographic studies.
